Some brides bask in the glow of all the attention on their wedding day. While others might have heavy anxiety just thinking about walking down the aisle in front of their guests. Naturally outgoing personalities thrive in big groups but introvert's like a more intimate gathering (in general). When planning your wedding, every bride needs to take their own personality style into consideration. This is your day, and you must be comfortable!
An Introvert Starting Point
Just as each woman may prefer a different diamond shape and style for her engagement ring, each bride has her own style when it comes to the tone of her wedding. If you are an introvert who thrives more in one-on-one get-togethers or smaller group affairs, but you still want the big wedding, there are ways to host a larger-scale event without inducing a panic attack.
● Hire a wedding planner.
Wedding planners serve as the main point of contact for your vendors and can help take care of any crises that may arise on the big day . Which means less stress for you! Prepare a list of questions so you’re not overwhelmed at your initial meeting. Be sure to discuss any anxieties you have about the ceremony.
● Refine the guest list.
If you’re truly overwhelmed by lots of people, it is ok to limit the list. Discuss your concerns with parents—if they are paying—and your fiancé. You may be able to cut those distant family members or just limit the list to close friends and family.
● Opt for a destination wedding.
Heading to a faraway resort or tropical paradise naturally limits the guest list. Destination weddings vary in cost, and different areas may be more cost efficient based upon the calendar.
● Take a break.
If you’re planning a big wedding, just be sure to schedule in breaks so you can escape for a bit of private time. When you’re booking your venue, talk to your point person to scope out a private area of the reception venue.
● Skip the walk.
You don’t have to be given away or walk down the aisle. If having all eyes on you causes your nerves to go bonkers, then quietly make a low-key entrance. Keeping the vibe more relaxed.
Every woman is an individual. If you don’t feel comfortable with a large wedding, or if your personality demands a low-key vibe, then plan your wedding accordingly. You can drop any tradition that makes you feel uncomfortable. You always have the power to limit the guest list. Your wedding should be memorable for all the right reasons, and this day of love should never, ever become a triggering horror when you look back on the photos.
